According to the Alaska Journal of Commerce's 2009 Book of Lists, PDC ranked #1 as Alaska's largest engineering firm (based on in-state registered/ certified engineers).

PDC is a full-service engineering company. We retain established clients and attract new ones because we visualize and make the "whole" project real: from project management to detailed design and into construction.

We have 80 employees evenly split between two main offices in Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska, with satellite offices in Washington and Hawaii.

Beyond Alaska, our project experience has taken us to Antarctica, Asia, the Pacific, Europe, and the western United States.

We excel at projects:
Located in remote regions
Subject to extreme engineering environments
Demanding "impossible" schedules

PDC's Mission
Transforming challenges into solutions from the Arctic to the Antarctic.

History
PDC Engineers

PDC evolved through the merger of four top Alaska engineering companies to provide a full array of multi-discipline services with in-house engineers and technical staff.

Our predecessor firms included:
Lake & Boswell Consulting Electrical Engineers - founded in Fairbanks in 1953, with Robert Boswell becoming a partner in 1973.
Mark Fryer Consulting Engineers (Mechanical Engineers) - opened in Anchorage in 1975. In 1978 Mr. Fryer partnered with Jim Pressley to form Fryer Pressley Engineers (FPE) (Mechanical and Electrical Engineers).
RoEn Design Associates (Civil Engineers and Surveyors) - formed in 1975 in Fairbanks; Tom Rosadiuk was a founding partner.
Loftus Engineering Associates (Structural Engineers) - established in Fairbanks in 1984 by Jim Loftus. LEA provided structural engineering services to industry and public sector clients in Alaska and Hawaii.

These mergers brought together top talent within the Alaska engineering community:
Tom Rosadiuk, registered as a Mining Engineer in 1962 and as a Surveyor in 1972
Mark Fryer, registered as a Mechanical Engineer in 1970
Rob Boswell, registered as an Electrical Engineer in 1971
Gary Rice, registered as a Civil Engineer in 1976
Jim Pressley, registered as an Electrical Engineer in 1976
Jim Loftus, registered as a Civil/Structural Engineer in 1980
Steve Theno, registered as a Mechanical Engineer in 1981
Ron Gebhart, registered as a Civil Engineer in Alaska in 1986 (previously registered in South Dakota since 1976)

We are forever thankful to our previous leaders for the contributions they have made not only to PDC but to the engineering community and Alaska as a whole:

PDC has grown and developed along with our state. Like Alaska, we are diverse, adaptable, and expanding.
