The readily accessible support of in-house structural, mechanical, electrical, environmental engineers, and surveyers enhances our Civil Engineering capabilities immeasurably. Our environmental staff is on hand for environmental assessment of route options, Our structural engineers are available to design tanks, foundations, and bridges associated with the basically civil project, Our electrical engineers provide outdoor lighting, corrosion control expertise, instrumentation, as well as other project assistance, and Our mechanical engineers provide special expertise in pumping and process design related to civil projects. LAND DEVELOPMENT We have carved major developments out of wilderness. Mines, native allotments, village subdivisions all require access by helicopter, snow machine, boat and even walk-in. More conventional City work brings agency and social challenges. PDC has hundreds of satisfied clients dating back 20 years. UTILITIES Seeking, acquiring, treating, storing, distributing and then collecting treating and disposing of water has been a major part of our service. We have provided unique, award winning designs for wells, storage tanks up to 5 million gallons, treatment plants as large as 1 mgd, distribution piping up to 24" diameter, sewer systems, lift stations and sewer treatment plants as well as sludge handling facilities and outfalls. MUNICIPAL SERVICES PDC provides urban design for the amenities that make community living possible. Streets, drainage, parking, parks, recreation facilities, community planning, pathways, and bus stops are some of the features we deal with. HIGHWAYS We have designed complete rehabilitation projects for all of Alaska's major highways (all three). Work includes repairs of major stability failures, thermal accomodation of permafrost, many miles of condition surveys, and multiple bridge/culvert replacements. We have conducted complete public involvement programs and newsletters, mail-outs, store-front offices, public workshops, media campaigns, and agency briefings. AIRPORTS Our airport services span from Master Planning to runway and ramp design. We also provide land side designs for terminals. Security resurfacing, drainage, deicing run-off treatment, fire training and maintenance facilities, and lighting are other areas of design service.
