Engineers

PDCPDC's Fire Protection group is headed by a registered professional fire protection engineer, supported by strong capabilities in mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural engineering.

PDC has been following the industry in the development of "clean agent" fire extinguishing systems. We are familiar with the NFPA document (2001) and EPA SNAP program. Our experience and abilities allow us to apply code requirements balanced with ecological aspects and practical application.

FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS
PDC has designed conventional wet pipe sprinkler systems, as well as dry pipe and glycol systems for application in areas subject to freezing and pre-action systems such as for electronics equipment spaces. We have designed Halon fire protection and AFFF foam fire protection equipment, as well as CO2 fire protection. We have also been involved in high-expansion (HX) systems for hanger fire protection and suppression.

EXPLOSION SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS
PDC developed specifications for the installation of explosion detection and suppression equipment. We have designed conveyor dust collection and water spray mist systems for explosion prevention.

FIRE FLOW REQUIREMENTS
We are experienced in the analysis and recommendation of fire flow requirements, and the analysis and design of water supply and distribution systems, including on-site water storage, fire pumps, hydrant installations, and direct buried, pre-insulated, accessible and semi-accessible utilidors, and circulating water supply.

DETECTION AND ALARM SYSTEMS
PDC designs conventional fire detection and alarm systems, addressable alarm systems and flame detection, air-sampling smoke detection systems, campus-wide centralized reporting fire detection and alarm systems, computer-based equipment integrated into complete Facility Management Systems (FMS), as well as remote radio reporting fire alarm equipment.
