Mechanical Engineer
I became an engineer because I wanted to create and build. My father and brother are also engineers, so there was also a strong desire to do the kind of work that they did.
I am passionate about providing the client with a quality product. I consider a successful project to be one that provides the client with a final product that meets or exceeds their expectations, yet is easy to maintain over the life of the system.
I am currently working on several projects that include either air source or water source heat pump systems. These systems are relatively new to parts of Alaska. I like the challenge of figuring out how we can use them effectively in our cold climate. It is important to provide our clients with an energy efficient system, while also ensuring that these systems will work properly for the specific application.
I enjoy projects with unique challenges. One recent challenge included a large school renovation where our design involved the need to maintain continuous operation of the mechanical systems during construction, while at the same time providing the students with a safe and healthy learning environment.
