The Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center in downtown Fairbanks is shared by five non-profit organizations:
- Fairbanks Convention & Visitors Bureau
- Tanana Chiefs Conference
- Denakkanaaga, the regional Alaska Native Elders organization
- Alaska Public Lands Information Center
- Alaska Geographic Store
The 37,000 sf, steel-framed structure houses a theatre, an exhibit hall, a visitor information area, classrooms, offices, and a gift shop. The theatre and exhibit hall form a single-story element on the south side of the building, with the offices in a two-story element on the north side of the building. A high clerestory lobby framed by exposed wood glulam beams runs down the building’s center.
